Reggie is 7!!!

This little 8lb guy turns 7 this weekend! We love him so much and are so grateful he's still with us. When we got him from the breeder he had many issues, some of which we still deal with (feline asthma), but he is a trooper and never fails to make us laugh on a daily basis. We love you Pookie! .... Now if only you wouldn't hide when you hear the bath water being drawn!

Kitty Massage

Both boys love it when Daddy gives them rub downs. Heck, we'd probably like it too if someone with a hand as big as our heads was massaging us! I'm not ashamed to admit I love a massage anytime, anywhere!!

Happy 7th Birthday Marley!

Our little Sphynx boy is 7! Very hard to believe especially since we knew him when he was still in his mommy's tummy!

He bring so much joy to our everyday lives. He is one talkative kitty but we have learned to accommodate all his requests... as it should be!

Happy 6th Birthday Reggie!!!

Wow! I cannot believe that Reggie is six years old today. It seems like just yesterday I got on a plane to go meet the breeder to pick him up.

Reggie is a little trooper, going through bouts of asthma, chronic colds, but at the end of the day he always gets better and he is our little kitty boy.

He loves playing fetch with his mouse, and he loves to give head butts early in the morning to wake me up!

Happy purthday Pookie (a term of endearment)!!!!

Well, my kitties absolutely love Greenies - I shake the bag and they go craaaazy over them! 

But I've never tried Greenies on "the other furry friend" before....so this month, Chewy.com sent over some Greenies for basset-hound "Cash" to try out.  And as you can see by the eager look on his face, he was ready to give them a try!

Success!  Cash loved his Greenies "Smart-Treat" and while it only took him about 3 minutes to finish, at least his teeth were getting some attention, as well as his breath!  If you haven't tried the Greenies brand before, I recommend them!

Cold California Mornings!

With the cooler weather (finally) coming, these boys have been obsessed with cuddling under the covers with me in the mornings! It makes it really hard to get out of bed with these two warm bodies pressed up right against you!

A friend had her dog STOLEN from her apartment - I can't even imagine - please, please, please, repost this, forward, email to all your friends.  You never know who might have seen him, or has heard something.  This happened in Los Angeles, so especially if you live in SoCal, send to everyone you know.  Jack and his story has been in several news stories over the past week too.

Marley is Chubby, and I mean that in a Loving Way - Merrick Purrfect Bistro to the Rescue!!!

So I finally took the boys in to the Vet a few weeks ago.  I had been getting those reminder cards in the mail for several months, and finally made the appointment.

Reggie weighs a svelte 7.9 pounds, but Marley now weighs in at almost 11 pounds!  I have no idea how that happened, I guess middle age is hitting him (he turned 6 in July). 

So the vet told me that it is easier for cats to lose weight on WET food, which I didn't know.  Problem is, Marley isn't a big fan of wet food.  He usually licks the juices off, and that's it, whereas Reggie grazes on wet food, but eventually finishes it all gone.  The vet said that the wet food keeps them fuller longer, makes sense I guess, so I thought I'd give it a try.  Along with giving Marley more wet food, I also cut down on the amount of dry food I leave out during the day.  (Sphynx cats graze all day long because their metabolism is a lot faster than other cats and they need to eat in order to keep warm).

Well, my good friend Chewy.com sent us some Merrick Purrfect Bistro to try, and surprisingly Marley took to it more than other wet food I've previously tried; it is the pate style, which both boys like, and had just enough juices to get Marley's attention and he even ate most of it too! 

Marley has been giving me those strange meows, probably because he isn't getting as much dry food, but sorry cat, you need to lose weight!  

 Here is a photo of Marley from a photo shoot he did earlier in 2013, as you can see, the "pooch" needs to go!  (Poor Marley, he's probably going to hate me for sharing this photo!)
